Buddy Reading Party - We're looking forward to celebrating Read Across America Day (annually on March 1st) with our kindergarten buddies. Everyone has selected a book to read to their buddy and so everyone's HW tonight is to read that book out loud THREE TIMES to a family member, being sure to use great expression - don't read like a robot! Our goal is bring the story to life for our buddies by using our storyteller's voice.
We are also prepared in case our buddy brings a favorite book for us to read to them, or maybe even wants to read to us. Today we also designed and completed personalized bookmarks to give to our buddies tomorrow.
Minimum Day - 12:19pm Dismissal - Don't forget that we get our early tomorrow. We will have morning recess as usual but no lunch period, so please serve a hearty breakfast and/or pack a substantial snack as our 12:19pm dismissal time is about an hour after our tummies are used to be eating lunch. Students will have the opportunity at the end of the day to get a grab-and-sit sack lunch from the cafeteria. (The rules have changed: lunch must be consumed on the premises so no more grab & go.)
Math - The Topic 6 math test came home in today's Thursday folder. There were 26 points possible and students had approximately 75 minutes to complete the test.
NNAT3 - For those who have been asking, we completed the NNAT3 assessment yesterday and those who were absent completed it this morning. Students reported that they had fun - and a challenge - completing the 48 puzzles in 30 minutes. I don't have any information on when results will be sent to parents but if I learn anything, I'll be sure to let you know.
