MATH TEST DATE CHANGE - I posted the wrong day/date yesterday for the Topic 11 math test. The correct day/date is this Friday, March 29th. (We took a vote yesterday and decided on Friday, then I just made a mistake in posting.)
Today in class we worked through the practice test in the math book (pp 601-602) which, as you know, closely aligns with the test I will give in class on Friday. Tonight's HW is pp 599-600, the reteach pages, which provide a good review of Topic 11.
Our newly-revealed class play is entitled Social Skills: How to Interact with Human Beings. It's pretty much tailor-made for us - haha! Seriously, though, it presents important skills in an entertaining and engaging way. As we perform, we will be teaching our audiences the very same social skills that we will be learning as we rehearse. (I love the geniuses at Bad Wolf Press, the publishers of all of my plays.) It will be a few weeks before we talk about individual parts. At this point, everyone is learning all the songs and the play itself. Expect more details as we move along.
Partial Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8th - HW tonight includes "look for your eclipse glasses and green folder" from October's partial annular eclipse. It's not the folder itself that's important, but the packet of information inside. I will replace materials as necessary but if you did save them as requested, great!
I will welcome parents to come to school on that day (Monday, April 8) as we view the partial eclipse. A "partial" eclipse means that we will NOT be taking off our eclipse glasses AT ALL. That's only safe to do in a total eclipse and we, in Glendale, are not in the Path of Totality.
Please email me if you are able to commit to being at school with us on that day.
We have two remaining field trips this year, which are noted on the Upcoming Dates page of this website. Watch for the permission slip for our next field trip in tomorrow's Thursday folder.
