Today we cleared out the heavy stuff going home: Math, volumes one and two, and our social studies and science Interactive Student Notebooks. There are many more math pages than we could ever cover in class, so there are opportunities for practice pages to use over the summer, if you wish. (No, this is NOT an assignment.) Please do NOT return these books to school tomorrow. Part of students' homework tonight is to unload their backpacks.
Classroom Library - Tomorrow students will have the option of checking out up to five books for the summer. I am not pushing this on anyone, but you know how much I value reading, and my books will just be sitting here all summer. In the past, I've found students to be responsible with their books. Please assist your child by helping them find a safe spot to store the books once they've finished reading them, and reminding them to return the books to me the first week of school in August.
Father's Day is coming up, and students have brought home a little something special in the last few days. They know that Father's Day is June 17th, but they might need Mom to remind them to deliver their gift (wink, wink).
Our year-end party on Wednesday will be pretty low key. Your child should have brought home the Room 1321 End-of-Year Party Plans sheet last Thursday. A few kids asked for, and received, another copy today. If you have any questions, please email me.
Report cards will come home on Wednesday. Please watch for the report card envelope, which will have a number of additional items inside, including the final i-Ready Parent Report.
