There is no obligation to make a donation but this is a fundraiser to raise the funds needed to pay our teaching artists, so please make a donation as you are able.
Principal Tonoli and Assistant Principal Dr Hakopian met with all the 3rd grade classes in the cafeteria before morning recess today to discuss behavior expectations of all students on campus, especially at recesses. Here are the highlights:
- Where do we need to follow the Keppel rules? EVERYWHERE on the Keppel campus.
- When playing a game such as handball, when you're out, you're out. Don't waste everyone's precious recess time arguing.
- If you accidentally hit someone with a ball, apologize and move on. Again, don't waste everyone's time arguing.
- Get in line at the end - no cuts - and keep the handball line outside of the court, not inside the lines.
- Basketball has a lot of physical contact so if you don't like that, play something else.
- BUT ... regarding basketball, RELAX out there - it's not the NBA.
- There are NO chasing games with touching - NO TAG or tag-like games - at Keppel. This includes after school on the front lawn, even after checked out to a parent.
- NO PLAYING IN THE RESTROOMS - (it's unsafe on so many levels)
- No soccer at this time. This includes games that look like soccer but that kids have decided to call a different name (we adults are not fooled)
Heads up: I will be out of the classroom this Wednesday and Thursday while I attend professional development at the district level with a team from Keppel.
