October is Fire Safety Month, making it a great time to review your family's safety plan. Your child should know (and practice) how to safely exit your home, including their bedroom, and know your family's safe spot, which is the place away from your home that you all agree to meet, perhaps on the sidewalk in front of your nextdoor neighbors. This is also the month to change the batteries on your home smoke alarms.
Calabash of the Winds - We are now at the nitpicking stage of our play, as Mrs. Gilbert calls it. That means we know how the play goes and also our lines, and we are looking for all the little ways that we can improve. An "every night" assignment from now until November 8th (our performance!) will be to run through lines once.
By now you should have a plan for your child's costume. Please email Mrs. Gilbert if you have any questions. Thank you to the parents (headed up by Tatiana's mom, Annie) who are putting together headpieces for everyone.
