Did you know? We've been preparing for the Fun Run for the last three weeks by walking/jogging around the track for P.E. We learned how to take our heart rate by finding out pulse just under our jawbone, and counting how many beats in 10 seconds. (A couple of us even used a calculator to multiply by 6 to get our true heart rate.) We've learned that exercise is good for our heart muscle and our lungs, and the long-term goal is for us to raise our heart rate when exercising, and then for it to return to normal quickly when we stop. So we've taken our heart rate before jogging, right after, and again once we are back in the classroom.
