Logging onto Clever - I am hearing that logging onto Clever is proving a challenge for some students who are logging on at home on a non-GUSD device. Here's what I learned when I talked with tech support at the district:
- if device has a camera, you can still logon with Clever badge
- if typing in website, use: clever.gusd.net (generic Clever website won't get you to GUSD's Clever pages); then choose: Login with Google
- you may first need to log off of another person's account if the device is shared with other members of your family
- Chrome is part of Google so if you are using Chrome as your browser, Clever might try to pull credentials from someone other than your child and that will prevent them from logging in
- one workaround: use Firefox (on PC) or Safari (on Apple) to log onto Clever
- another workaround that ETIS suggested is to use "incognito" mode by typing CTRL-Shift-N <<< That method would make me nervous - I'm not so sure introducing a 3rd grader to incognito mode is a good idea
- REMEMBER: any student may checkout/borrow a district chromebook for the school year. For free! They are configured to make logging onto Clever a breeze. Please email me if you'd like a contract sent home.
Thursday folder - Don't forget to check your child's backpack on Thursdays and look over the items inside their Thursday folder. Students should return the folder on Friday. A few have been returning them with items still inside. Others say, "My mom forgot to check my Thursday folder." Please know that I'm telling them that as third graders it's their responsibility to give the folder to you, but please do search for it if they forget.
